Floor Polyurethane and Furniture?

I want to apply polyurethane on my new pine floor. I have already sanded it and I have also used a red stain. My concerns are focused on the floor finish because in the same room I have my furniture, my sofa-bed, TV etc. I tend to apply the 2 pack of the oil modified polyurethane (or water-based poly) with my things inside the same room. The evaporation of the polyurethane can contaminate my thing with toxic its substances?
