Should I make friends with people of other races?

I'm curious. Im just your every day heavy metal fan white guy. I don't have a tan, which I know is a BIG deal to people. If they are so many stereotypes about whites and colored folks on Yahoo. Why are there so many whites and coloreds that are friends? I don't know how to relate to coloreds. Even their women are different and have to be approached differently, and most are only open to men with a tan
