What do i do listen to myself or friends and family?

my parents and most of my friends say that i should go to college right after i am done with high school but i don't want to. i want to for one year stay with my grandparents in Indonesia for one year going from Jakarta for six months and to Borneo for the other six months. but what should i do!!!! should i go to college and put my plans on hold or enjoy myself for a year and not rush back into school?
