Father help...? Please answer.?

I never really thought about him..But my mom was talking to the neighbors and they've seen a guy around here that fits his description. I've never met him, my mom and him weren't married. He was mad when he found out my mom was pregnant. I'm thinking, what if that is him? Why won't he talk to me? He lives 3 cities up from us yet hes in our neighborhood? My mom thinks she has seen him before too. She doesn't want me to talk to him and she sure as h*ll doesn't want to talk to him. I know his first and last name, just not sure how to spell his last. Is there anyway to seem more welcoming for him to approach me? I'm 17. If he didn't want me born why try to follow my life?
