Why is Indonesia's capital Jakarta?

I am doing a project on the country in Southeast Asia: Indonesia. One of the requirements is to explain why the capital is the capital of the country....And i can't seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone know why Jakarta is the capital of Indonesia?
