What is the best transit airport if I wanna take a trip from Jakarta to Big Sky Montana US?

Dulles airport (IAD), near Washington DC, since transit passengers have special customs/immigration area and do not exit the sterile airport area. However, I don't think there are direct flights to Dulles from Jakarta. Which leaves San Francisco or Los Angeles as your choices, and they are similar. SFO has better shops and food court so my suggestion is SFO.
