New flooring, any suggestions?

I live in brooklyn and want to install a new floor in my kitchen. I already have a pine floor which I want to replace and have a floor installed that can withstand water, high foot traffic and can still look good. Any suggestions? I have a large family and active social life and the kitchen is used a lot so I want a floor that can last long
